My old house at village

The rain was pouring down!  The sky was filled with dark clouds.  My village house, which is a hundred years old but still standing, it was flooded with rain.  My wife and I had moved into the village two days earlier.  Carrying the umbrella and bag in my hand, I looked at the house from the courtyard.  The front door was locked.  There was a big pool of water at the door.  Avoiding the pouring rain, I leaned against the back wall of the house.  The tree in the backyard was twisting in the wind.  No sound could be heard in the sky before the sound of water flowing nearby.  This look of a rainy house was not new to me.  I always wanted to draw that mysterious, overwhelmed, a little scary atmosphere.  The back door was only half open.  The slippers, which were wet and clinging to my feet, were removed with a little force.  Close the umbrella and open the partially open door. Hearing my voice, my wife hurried out of the bathroom. She took the bag in my hand and said, "Did you get milk? Was there anyone in the shop?"  "Got it! I want to go in the rain in that village ..." I said handing the bag to my wife.  My gaze easily went to the front door.  I could feel the darkness coming from outside. The wind was shaking and twisting all the trees outside, and a person was standing outside in the background.

My old house at village

The man in the pant shirt was looking at me.  When I realized the situation, I was overwhelmed with fear.  Because there was no one in the house except the two of us.  The person in front of me was staring at me with a penetrating look.  Just as I was about to say something, the man held the bag in his hand a little further.  A woman on the other side came forward to pick up the bag.  Seeing her clothes, she felt like before. I stood still and watched the scene.  After a while I came to my senses and said to my wife who was standing next to me, "Who are these people in front of? Is anyone here?"  His wife dried her head and looked at him and said, "Don't you know? You are there!"  I was horrified by wife's words.  The person in front was really me!  That woman must be my wife, Rhea!  At least she looked the same. "So you see that there too?" I asked nervously.  " If she is there now, will you see her? Rhea said casually.  "But she's wearing old clothes and looks like she's from a very noble family.

"  By the time I said that, the feeling outside was gone. Even in that heavy rain, I was sweating profusely.  I looked at Rhea.  In a moment, she too realized the reality of that strange illusion.  She trembled in fear.  I quickly took her closer and recovered.  And sat on the bed.  She was staring at me with numb and frightened eyes.  I recovered immediately and said to her, "Wait, bring some hot tea, there will be some illusion. "Illusion? You and me? At the same time? Rhea spoke. You just sit quietly. And I went to the inner kitchen. There was tea in a pot on the stove.  We put the rest of the milk in the silver pot and came out quickly.  Rhea was still looking around the courtyard, the bathroom, the hall.  She was probably looking for something she had seen a while ago.  "Have some tea. It's hot. It's nice," I said.  Rhea took tea.  Then I took a bit too.  Both of us felt good with tea. I unknowingly looked out into the courtyard.  It was getting dark outside.  This darkness was about to take over the house.  I came out quickly.  The lanterns, which had been wiped clean and oiled, were blown up and lit. The house was filled with light.  One put the lantern in the hall and the other took it inside.  Rhea was not there.  My heart pounded.  "Rhea, where are you?" I called.  But that is not the answer.  I looked at the kitchen and the interior.  She wasn't even there.  All of a sudden my eyes went to the back door.  The door was open.  I took the lantern and looked out the back door.  It was very dark outside.  The rain had stopped.  "Rhea" I went out further calling.  In the backyard a big tree was swaying in the wind.  The sound of falling water was everywhere. I continued looking for Rhea.  Rhea was standing behind that big tree!  Looking at the tree.  My whole body ached.  Saying "Rhea, Rhea" I walked over to her in the stagnant water in the yard.  "What are you doing here? Let's go home."  So I dragged her home.  Rhea was completely wet in that rain.  "Why did you go out?"  I asked a little angrily.  "Hey, I went there because I saw someone."  I was glad to hear the firmness in her voice and to see that she was not scared. "What's the matter? Who's going to be there now?"  I said.  "I was thinking the same thing! Who and where will come from now?"  She said.  "Then did anyone see it? No, no? Then why don't you come in immediately?"  I explained and spoke to her.  "I don't see it. But I think I went to pick the fruit there?" She said. "What?"  You?  Fruit? "I didn't know." Let go.  There is no one, so forget it.  To put it bluntly, it would be an illusion! "She smiled. She was not scared. She was fully conscious. I was glad to see that. Frightened, I took the lantern and walked around the house again.  As soon as my mind came to rest, I turned on the radio on the table in the hall and kept turning it here and there.  Rhea started cooking in the kitchen.  I was awake for a long time that night.  Was predicting the surrounding environment.  From the rain falling in the courtyard, I could hear the sound of trees and the sound of nightingales.  Rhea was fast asleep. That was the only thing that made me happy.  The next day the rain was a little less.  From time to time a little wool was falling.  The whole area seemed happy in that sun.  Rhea had been a bit quiet since morning.  My mind was not like that.  It was like what happened yesterday.  As I was having tea, I said to Rhea, "Yesterday was just a joke. You feel the same way, don't you?"  "It's just something to say. I don't know, but that's the truth." She said. "This is our third year here. It has never been like this before."  I said.  "Besides, how do you call it illusion? How is it possible that you both feel the same way?"  Rhea said.  We understood the illusion of everything that happened and remained silent and it also benefited us.  In that clean, beautiful, unpolluted, open air we relaxed once again.  It started to rain a little in the afternoon and it started to rain heavily.  Rhea and I were sitting on the couch watching the orgy of nature.  In the courtyard, all the trees near the well were blown away by the wind. The stagnant water of four nearby houses had even caused islands.  The opportunistic light of the time was coming.  I was looking in front of the courtyard and suddenly I saw someone drawing water from a well.  That's what I called Rhea.  "Oh really. Who's going to get the water now? And who's going to come in all of a sudden without letting you know?"  She said.  I took the umbrella and came out quickly.  I opened the door and went to the corner of the courtyard and looked at the well.  A tall, strong man, dressed in black, stopped to draw water from the well and looked at me.  I shuddered.  It was me!  In that dazed state, I called Rhea.  Rhea quickly approached me, soaking wet in the rain.  By then he had pulled the jug out of the well.  He took the jug in his hand and looked at both of us and he went to the barn. "Hey, you're the one there. And why the cowshed? There's not a single cow or buffalo there!"  She said.  I said patiently to Rhea, "Let's see." We walked down the steps to the barn.  The barn door was open.  We were dizzy from the inside.  The bright-faced woman was milking a cow in the barn.  But the man was not there.  We saw the woman's face.  She was Rhea!  We were scared now.  In fact, there was nothing to be afraid of.  But what we saw was so irrational and impossible that we unknowingly went on a diet of fear!  Suddenly we saw a man walking up the steps of the courtyard into the house.  We also went home immediately.  When we came to the house, no one was there.  It was getting dark.  I quickly lit the lantern. Rhea and I somehow managed to get through that night in a state of panic.  We plan to return the next day.  But the afternoon bus did not reach the village that day.  As the evening drew to a close, we began to think that we would see them both.  We were not disappointed.
My old house at village

Today we were looking around cautiously.  Every sound, movement, that is felt around is observed.  Today we were sitting on the couch outside for that.  Lanterns were placed in the hall before dark.  In the evening, our mood swelled even more.  But there was no change.  I was stunned. I said to Rhea, "Let's go home."  Rhea was looking in the courtyard.  I saw it too.  They were both sitting on the couch in the courtyard!  She was probably looking at us.  The bright-faced man looked at me and smiled.  I hurried to the courtyard, but no one was there.  Rhea followed me.  By all means we were completely numb.  I wanted to go to a neighbor's house at night.  But Rhea rejected the plan.  "Why next door? And we're four people in the house."  Rhea said with a smile.  "Four?"  I knew what she meant.  But still I asked.  "Hey, we two are now and we two are past." "And what are you afraid of?"  Rhea said.  I was relieved to see her insistence on all this.  We ate and slept early at night.  But I stayed up all night.  I fell asleep a little early in the morning.  Rhea was not on the side when I woke up. It was five o'clock on the wall clock.  I got up quickly and started looking for her saying "Rhea, Rhea".  Two women were making tea in front of the stove in the kitchen.  I went a little closer.  Both were Rhea!  I stumbled and climbed the stairs.  A steel pot fell down the stairs.  I bent down to take it.  Rhea was filling a cup of tea when I looked up.  She looked at me and said, "I thought. You'll be awake. Take it."  "Rhea, there's someone else here, aren't you?"  "I thought so too. But no one was seen. Did you see anyone?"  Rhea said.  "Let's go. Let's go out. Let's have tea outside."  Saying that, I got up.  And Rhea fell down again as she got up.  The cup of tea in her hand spilled down. "Rhea-Rhea," I said, raising one hand.  But she had fallen into a trance.  Somehow he picked her up and brought her out.  Rhea had a fever.  Something was wrong.  There was little medicine around.  Two fever pills were given but the fever did not subside.  She regained consciousness in the afternoon but fell asleep again.  It was hard for Rhea to get out of that situation.  It rained and the wind blew again that day.  It was getting dark and Rhea regained consciousness!  She sat up as if nothing had happened.  She could not remember what had happened.  "Didn't you see those two today?"  She asked and I shuddered.  "I mean?"  I said.  "It's too late, they'll be seen. They'll be here somewhere."  Rhea's gaze wandered around the house.  I felt like the front door had opened.  I came out quickly.  I was standing in the doorway!  Closing the umbrella and removing the slippers from his feet, he carried the bag in his hand.  Rhea came running to get the bag.  I couldn't see that scene.  I felt dizzy and fell down.  When I woke up, Rhea was busy.  "Rhea," I called to her.  She came forward quickly.  She was so happy to see me wake up.  "Come on. Get up. Will you get up? Have some tea and leave immediately. The bus will come back to the next village in half an hour. She gave me her hand and stood up. In a moment I noticed everything. I was tired.  Rhea had packed the bag and brought it out. Rhea locked the door and said, "Let's get out of the bus soon. We won't run. The bus is already late. We have to get out before it's too late."  I mentally admired Rhea's snow.  We both walked up the road.  The bus arrived on time and we left the village.

My house in that village is now completely broken.  There are only a few stones left now.  The surrounding area has been taken over by the storm.  I still remember that house.  But I never went there again because of what I experienced.  Last month I went to that village for some work.  My eyes watered when I saw the fall of the house and the grass growing everywhere.  I looked at the place where I slept and where I always used to sit.  There was a square box in such a bad condition.  I picked it up and opened it.  Inside was a very old photo of the grandfather and his eldest son and daughter-in-law were also seen beside him in the photo.  I knew that their eldest son had drowned in the creek and that his daughter-in-law had also died in the same shock.  But now I knew that he looked the same as me or that he was me and Rhea was the same.  With tears in my eyes, I filled the premises of the ruined house and left.  I had to get out before it was too late.  Otherwise .......!  Otherwise, I would have seen myself living in that dilapidated house once again.
